Captain Henry Stewart's Biography

CPT Henry Stewart

Cpt.  Henry Stewart began his law enforcement career in 1994 with the Starkville Police Department as a Patrolman, he later achieved the rank of Police Detective, Master Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant.  He is currently serving as Operations Commander. 

Cpt. Stewart is a graduate of Troy University in Alabama with a degree in Criminal Justice and has an Associate of Arts Degree from East Ms. Community College.

Cpt. Stewart is a military veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard where he retired with 20 years of service, (Go Army). During his military career, he received numerous awards including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), Good Conduct Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), German Weapon Award, and Combat Lifesaver.

He is married to Angela Buress-Stewart of Starkville, Ms. and they attend First Baptist Church of Longview where he serves as a Deacon and Men’s Laymen President.  He is Vice President of the Northeast Baptist Laymen Association and the former President of the Whitefield District Laymen Association.

Some of his hobbies are servanthood, deer hunting, mentoring, running, and watching sports.  The one thing that he enjoys is giving back to the community and mentoring the young male generation. The most important thing in his life is GOD and to continue to build his relationship with him.  Remember, ''We can do all things through Christ who strengthen us.'’
